Microsoft Corp., reversing its plans, said on Thursday that it will not make any changes to its Windows operating system or Internet Explorer Web browser in response to a verdict that said some components of those programs infringe on another company’s technology. The world’s largest software maker said that “requests made by partners and customers” prompted it to cancel making changes that would make it difficult for its programs to run mini-applications over the Web. Earlier this month, a federal judge upheld a $521 million verdict against Microsoft, saying jurors were correct in determining that the company had infringed on patents held by the University of California and Eolas Technologies Inc., which jointly hold a key Web browsing technology patent.
