AMD has an updated processor roadmap available for your viewing pleasure. The roadmap details AMD’s processor plans through next year, but with the timeline segmented into six-month blocks, it’s hard to draw any firm conclusions on release dates.
Despite its ambiguity, the roadmap reveals a few interesting tidbits, most notably that dual-core Opteron and Athlon 64 FX processors won’t arrive until the second half of 2005. Dual-core replacements for AMD’s FX-less Athlon 64s aren’t listed at all, suggesting that they may not debut until 2006. The roadmap also indicates that single-core, 90-nano Opteron processors will arrive before the end of this year in 1xx, 2xx, and 8xx flavors.
